Marbella / Puerto Banus
Marbella and Puerto Banus are a 20-25 minute drive away and have been homes to the rich and famous for many years now. You’ll see just how rich some of the residents are in the marina’s of Marbella and Puerto Banus where their huge yachts are moored and the expensive sports cars parked adjacent to the numerous restaurants. Puerto Banus becomes a lively cosmopolitan port in the evening with it’s legendary nightlife including many bars and a few nightclubs to suit all tastes.
Marbella and Puerto Banus are a shoppers haven for famous fashion houses, vibrant shops and boutiques. Puerto Banus is also host to a traditional market in the central plaza where there are stalls selling merchandise ranging from clothes, local artefacts and dried fruits.
Puerto Banus also benefits from a lovely beach (Playa Levante) which holds European blue flag status with it’s golden sands and a number of beach bars (chiringuito’s). Although Puerto Banus attracts the rich and famous, there are many bars and restaurants which are inexpensive to drink and dine in, so it’s well worth a visit day or night.
Estepona
Estepona is a large coastal town well known for having kept its Spanish charm and character, yet also has an abundance of bars, restaurants, and shops.
La Rada beach, the town’s most popular beach which is 2.6km long and has an attractive promenade alongside. Located throughout are Chiringuitos (beach bars), which serve traditional tapas, or a choice of cosmopolitan style dishes. Located at the west end of La Rada beach is the marina. In the evening there are the various discos and bars.
Mijas
Mijas is a beautiful village set within the hills to the west of Fuengirola. This village has bundles of character and charm. There are a number of shops in the centre of the village selling traditional spanish craft. There are also a number of restaurants in the area, some of which have magnificent views of the Mediterranean. This really is a beautiful village which must not be missed.
Ronda
Ronda is a 50km drive up in to the mountains from the San Pedro coastline. This drive in to the mountains is not for the faint hearted!! In the unlikely event of there being low cloud during your journey, you may even experience driving through the clouds themselves! The town of Ronda is home to a gorge which has some rather impressive features.
Gibraltar
Gibraltar dominates the entrance to the Mediterranean between the southern tip of Spain and the continent of Africa. Both famous and enigmatic, Gibraltar contains some of the most extensive military fortifications in Europe, spanning over 1200 years of Moorish, Spanish and British history. You can enjoy some of the finest caves in Europe as well as the famous semi-wild barbary apes. Many more attractions and activities make Gibraltar unique in terms of history, geography, geology, flora and fauna and, of course, not forgetting the duty free shopping .
Selwo Adventure Park
Selwo Adventure Park is located just off the main road along the Costa del Sol near Estepona. It is a mix of nature park, safari and adventure park and is unique in Europe. It has a huge wilderness with more than 2,000 animals from all over the world such as elephants, lions, and tigers living in semi-freedom and you can explore this either in 4x4 jeeps or on foot using the overhead walkways. You can slide on a flying fox over a huge lake, try out archery and ride on the back of camels. There is a large aviary with more than 1000 birds and there are exhibitions of birds of prey. Tivoli World Amusement Park
Tivoli World Amusement Park is located in Arroyo da le Miel, 2 km inland from Benalmadena Costa, and can be reached by the train which runs from Malaga to Fuengirola or by bus from most resorts along the coast. It is the biggest amusement park on the Costa del Sol and offers both rides and a varied program of shows including Flamenco and Wild West shows. It has an area of the park called Tivolandia which is specially for younger children.

Benalmadena Cable Car
Situated right next to Tivoli World, the Benalmadena Cablecar runs to the summit of Monte Calamorro. From the top you can enjoy fantastic views over the Costa del Sol, Sierra Nevada and on clear days of Gibraltar and the North African coast. Each of the cars has space for four people and the journey takes approximately 15 minutes. At the top there is a cafeteria with terrace overlooking the coast. Donkey rides, exhibitions of birds of prey and Spanish horse riding exhibitions are included in the price of the ticket. For those who are feeling more energetic there are paths to walk back down or even to mountain bike down. The cable cars can carry bikes.

Benalmadena Sea Life Aquarium
Benalmadena Sea Life Aquarium is located next to the Marina in Benalmadena. It contains a shark reef, a tank with rays, a sea snake enclosure and various other displays. They only display creatures which will be happy and flourish in this environment so this means there are no dolphins or whales as they would not do so. It is open all year from 10am.
